Highly customized 54×36 array. $5000

In addition to bikes, I now build solid wood Skyline Acoustic Diffusers for home audio, theater and studio use!

I started building these for myself and my friends after we noticed a large amount of slap echo in our listening spaces. These diffusers have proven extremely effective in making our spaces much more enjoyable.18×18″ diffusers start at just $150.

5 colors of metallic paint on square-cut blocks make for an incredibly material- and time-consuming build.

Acoustic diffusers work by scattering sound waves rather than allowing them to reflect off hard surfaces and bounce around the room. A diffuser does not reduce sound energy but combats echoes and reverberation while creating a live sounding space. This gives your system the sound of being in a much larger room. Science!

72×18 array can also be configured as 36×36. $600

This is no decorative piece just for show. Most of the so-called diffusers offered on ebay and etsy are just random blocks of wood stuck together haphazardly. That’s exactly the wrong way to do it as random layouts will produce unpredictable results! The BBC did their homework on this design and I have reproduced it precisely.

36×18 diffuser. $300

Both of these examples are constructed with maximum module height of 8” giving them an effective frequency range from 850 Hz to 450 Hz. Custom work in other sizes, depths and finishes is available. I can tune these to the frequency response best suited to your space!
